Can the US be Energy Independent by 2016 as the Advanced Energy Center Claims?

Published on: April 25, 2012

The Advanced Energy Center is a national organization based in Raleigh, North Carolina that has been studying energy efficiency since 1980. The organization works with air conditioning and heating companies, the general public and government to provide solutions for effective energy use.

During a recent study, the Advanced Energy Center discovered that approximately 50 percent of energy reserves used by people to power air conditioning and heating systems, cars, household appliances and more is imported into the United States and not created within our own borders. This is a cause of great concern to the Advanced Energy Center, as the organization feels it leaves the United States too vulnerable to the desires of other world leaders. As a result, it has called for a complete end to dependence on foreign energy sources by July 4, 2016.

While many American and air conditioning and heating contractors feel this is unrealistic, we do not. We are already responding to a growing interest expressed by home and business owners in our community to switch to more natural sources of energy. This includes installing such systems as geothermal heating and cooling, solar wind energy, using fuel cells instead of oil and several other creative initiatives. At our air conditioning and heating company, we understand that we can’t do things the way we have always done them and expect different results. That is why we are open to helping our customers pursue alternative ways to receive the energy.

If you are also on board with the proposed goal of the Advanced Energy Center, we invite you to contact our heating and air conditioning company to discuss your alternatives. We will send a skilled service technician to your home or business to determine if switching to a natural energy source would work for you.
