Creating More Energy Savings with Passive DehumidificationPublished on: May 2, 2012
Your local Bryant® factory authorized dealer can help you save money on your energy costs during an air conditioning repair and installation. Humid air feels warmer than dry air. Even if the outside temperature is not hot, the humidity level can feel stifling. This encourages homeowners to “crank up the air conditioner,” or lower the inside temperature. This uses more energy than is necessary to make the room comfortable.
A Bryant® factory authorized dealer is authorized and licensed by the manufacturer to sell the specific products. The dealer’s technicians receive intense training and are certified to install, repair and maintain the products. The dealer can perform all maintenance and repairs under warranty. Using a factory authorized dealer for your next air conditioning repair and installation is a wise investment.
Upgrading to a higher efficiency unit will save money. Your Bryant® factory authorized dealer can help you save money. Your Bryant® factory authorized dealer can help you save even more with passive dehumidification. This is a system that removes up to 100% more humidity than a regular HVAC system. It uses no energy in the process.
The system uses heat pipe technology. Although it seems complicated the process is fairly simple. There are two main sections to this technology. There are called the pre-cool pipes and the reheat pipes.
The air coming into the HVAC system moves over the pre-cool pipes. Heat in the air is transferred to a refrigerant in the pipes. The heated refrigerant will be used later in the system. The difference in temperature causes condensation, pulling moisture from the air.
The cooled air then comes to the coils. It is cooled again by refrigerant and heat transfer. Condensation happens again, removing more moisture from the air. At this point, the air is too cold to send back into the house.
The air then travels to the second part of the system, the reheat pipes. The heated refrigerant from the pre-cool pipes heats the air. This causes condensation one more time. The dehumidified and comfortable air is then returned to the house.
Your Bryant® factory authorized dealer can perform your air conditioning repair and installation any time of the year. Consider passive dehumidification during your next air conditioning repair and installation for the most savings.
