Carrier® Energy Experts Program Has News for You

Published on: May 9, 2012

If you are frustrated by the high air conditioning and heating costs for your home in the Lowcountry, South Carolina area, you may be interested in learning more about the Carrier® Energy Experts Program. As the world leader in HVAC manufacturing and technology, the Carrier Corporation is constantly striving to improve energy efficiency for its customers. Recently, Carrier® announced its 360 Degree Whole Home Energy Audit to HVAC dealers, homeowners and business owners across the country. People living and working in the Lowcountry are especially excited about the possibility of increasing air conditioning and heating system efficiency as the result of this program.

To schedule your home energy audit, look for a HVAC dealer in the Lowcountry area that is a factory authorized dealer for Carrier. This will ensure that the HVAC company has been properly trained by Carrier® to complete the audit correctly. You can help the appointment go efficiently by having one year’s worth of utility bills available when the heating and air conditioning service technician arrives. The first step of Carrier®’s energy audit involves analyzing past utility bills to detect energy use patterns and specific times when your costs peaked.

After gathering information from your utility bills, the home energy auditor will next investigate your air conditioning system, furnace, ductwork and other major HVAC equipment. He or she will perform high-tech testing to see how well each piece of equipment is currently functioning. The results of this stage of your audit will determine the specific recommendations that the energy auditor makes to you.

Upon receiving a list of recommended changes from the service technician, you have the option of implementing some of the changes immediately. If you choose to do so, you will be asked to report the results back to the HVAC dealer to see if any adjustments need to be made.
