Why is Zoning Your HVAC System Important
Creating zones for your HVAC system is a great example of heating and cooling customization. When you control zones of your home separately, it provides more comfort and less wear and tear on your HVAC equipment.
For example, if the back of your home is south-facing, you may receive a lot of direct sun through the windows. It may warm your space more than you like. When you have a zoned HVAC system, it can respond to the needs of your sunny kitchen and family room.
If, however, your upstairs master bedroom is on the north side of the house and is surrounded by shady trees, the temperature will likely trend cooler. A zoned HVAC system would keep the bedroom comfortable as well.
When an HVAC system is zoned, the system works harder or shifts down as necessary. This spares your HVAC system excess wear and tear, which can lead to premature repairs or even a breakdown.
